Nagarkot: The famous tourist destination is located 32 kilometers east of Kathmandu, approximately 1930m above sea level. The oldest Changu Narayan Temple of Nepal is situated on a ridge overlooking the valley, about 12 km to the east of the Kathmandu city. It is dedicated to the Hindu God Bishnu. The temple now covers sixteen hundred years of Nepalese art and history. Changu Narayan Temple was built around the third century, and it is one of the finest and oldest specimens of pagoda architecture, the temple is embellished with exquisite wood and stone carvings, and it's said to be the oldest pagoda style temple in Nepal.
